Abstract

Steady-state current in polymethylphenylsilane thin films has been studied. It is found that the steady-state current is proportional to the square root of the applied electric field at high applied electric fields. The temperature dependence of the steady-state current shows the thermally activated behavior with the activation energy of 0.33 eV and 0.95 eV below and above 9.0 x 10(4) V/cm, respectively. These experimental results can be explained in terms of the ion generation due tothe Poole-Frenkel mechanism and the subsequent transport in this material.
