Abstract

Notwithstanding a degree of unease in some quarters, the role of dissociative processes in parapsychological phenomena is proposed as a keytopic for current parapsychological research. In this context, recentdevelopments in mainstream dissociation research have posed substantial questions that deserve the attention of parapsychologists. Some of these issues are examined with reference to the encyclopedic Handbook of Dissociation compiled by Michelson and Ray. Major avenues for future research are identified.
