Abstract

The morphologic structure of indocyanine green J-aggregates in water and in heavy water is studied by transmission electron microscopic imaging and electron diffraction. In water sub-micrometer sized loosely packed porous particles with well resolved crystalline regions are observed. In heavy watersub-micrometer sized compact single crystalline particles are present.
