Abstract

In the present paper, a general affine motion estimation algorithm using the Fourier descriptors is proposed. It is able to estimate, in addition to the translation, scaling and rotation, the stretching parameters or equivalently, the scale, the shift, and the four coefficients of the general affine matrix. A modified Claire test sequence will serve as a useful test to evaluate the proposed motion algorithm. This sequence was selected by International Expert Groups, and was provided by the Centre National d'Etudes des Telecommunications (CNET), France. (C) 2001 Pattern Recognition Society.
