Abstract

Reaction of 2,6-diacetylpyridine with 3,3'-diaminodipropylamine in the presence of lanthanide nitrates as template agents gives the heptadentate macroacyclic complexes of podate type with terminal acetylpyridyl groups and a N5O2 set of donor atoms as a result of [2 + 1] Schiff base condensation. The complexes were characterized by spectral data (IR, H-1 NMR, FAB-MS) and thermogravimetric and elemental analyses. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Allrights reserved.
