Abstract

Balloon angioplasty of recurrent coarctation of the aorta is considered a low-risk procedure with high success rate. In the literature, the major complications are death, rupture of the aorta, recoarctation, aneurysm formation, cerebrovascular accident, and femoral artery thrombosis. Spinal cord ischemia as an unusual complication of balloon angioplasty is reported. (C) 2001 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
