Abstract

Dispersion polymerization method for the synthesis of monodispersed polymer microspheres in polar media is discussed. Mechanism of particle formationis complicated as each component in the medium has its own role in the formation of monodisperse, stable microspheres. A judicious selection of stabilizer, initiator, reaction medium together with close control of reaction parameters is essential to get narrow dispersed microspheres.
