Abstract

Human listeners can often improve their ability to discriminate sounds with practice. We have been using behavioral techniques to examine the patterns of learning and generalization on basic auditory tasks, such as the discrimination of the time interval between two sounds. Here we briefly state our motivations for examining learning on these basic tasks, describe our experimental paradigm, and provide an example of our results. Copyright (C) 2001 S. Karger AG, Basel.
