Abstract
Fluctuating asymmetry (FA) and shell disease were examined in three species of shore crabs to investigate the impact of a seashore municipal landfill. The prevalence of shell disease was relatively severe in Charybdis annulata collected from the landfill site and the control site. There was significant difference in the FA levels of the dactylus, carpus and merus segmentsin Grapsus albolineatus between the landfill site and the control site. Onthe other hand, there were no significant differences in the FA levels of any leg segments for Thalamita danae and Charybdis annulata between the twosites.
