Abstract

A new MOP ligand containing n-octyl group at 6 and 6' positions of (R)-2-(diphenylphosphino)-2'-aryl-1,1'-binaphthyl skeleton was prepared and used for palladium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrosilylation of cyclic 1,3-dienes withtrichlorosilane. By introduction of the n-octyl group, the palladium-phosphine catalyst became soluble in the reaction system, realizing high catalytic activity at a low reaction temperature.
