Abstract

Purpose. To report a case of probable non-uniting double retinal arterial circulation. Methods. Case report. A 66-year-old man suffered central retinal artery occlusion.. Results. The medical findings and angiographic workup supported the existence of double central retinal circulation not uniting before entering the globe and independently branching in the retina. Conclusions: In previously recognized unusual anatomic structures of the central retinal artery two parallel arteries were recognized, both of which united before entering the globe. We have described a rare anatomic variantin which those arteries remained separated after entering the globe, including while branching in the retina.
