Abstract

The magnetic, neutron diffraction (ND) and NMR experiments have been performed on (Mn1-xCux)(66)Ga-34 (x = 0.25-0.35). The sigma -T curve shows a cusp at T-t after the disappearance of spontaneous magnetization. The chi (-1)-T curve shows a bend at T-N. The ND experiments exhibit the presence of anantiferromagnetic component lying in the basal plane for T-t less than or equal to T < T-N. For T < T-t, a helical spin structure propagating in the c direction appears, changing the pitch of helix from 4.12C to 8.26C. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
