Abstract

A wavelength temperature-tunable DFB-LD module containing a wideband athermal birefringent filter for a wavelength monitor has been developed. The FSR and the thermal drift of the filter are measured to be 12.7nm and 0.26pm/degreesC. respectively. By temperature wavelength tuning, ten channel selection for 50GHz spacing and stabilisation with locking accuracy of +/-7 pm are also demonstrated.
