Abstract

The parity and isospin forbidden po-decay from N-14*(J(pi) = 2(+); T = 1; E-x = 9.17225 MeV) to C-13 (g.s.) has been theoretically investigated via C-13((p) over bar, p)C-13 resonance scattering of polarized protons. Considering various strong and weak interaction models, the longitudinal (A(L)) and the irregular transverse (A(b)) analyzing powers have been calculated in the energy range around the 2(+), E-x = 9.17225 MeV-resonance in N-14*. Energy anomalies for the expected interference effects, relevant for the experiments, have been found to be A(L) = (0.19 divided by 1.82) x 10(-5) and A(b) = (0.6 divided by 5.6) x 10(-5). In addition, the circular polarizationsof the 2.36018 and 9.3893 MeV gamma -rays, populating the 2(+)0, E-x = 7.02912 MeV and the ground state in mbox N-14-nucleus, have been found to be (0.22 divided by 2.07) x 10(-3) and (0.20 divided by 1.89) x 10(-3), respectively.
