Abstract

The magnetic field effect on the electrochemical behavior of hemoglobin atthe silver electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry When a 0.4 T magnetic field was applied to the cell containing 1 x 10(-6) M hemoglobin (pH 5.0), both anodic and cathodic peak currents increased observably at 10 mV/s due to the MHD convection. In addition, the influence of scan rate, adding promotor, increasing homoglobin concentration and removing oxygen on the peak currents under the magnetic field were investigated and analyzed with the classical MHD phenomena.
