Abstract

Modulation of the strength of synapses is thought to be one of the mechanisms that underlies learning and memory and is also likely to be important in processes of neuropathology and drug tolerance. This review focuses on the emerging role of postsynaptic neurotransmitter receptor trafficking as anessential mechanism underlying the dynamic regulation of synaptic strength.
