Abstract

This paper presents an analysis method of quantitative microstructure of metal based on image analysis theory. Haralick statistics. A neural network has been used to realise the correlation between microstructure and mechanical properties (here means hardness). By the example of Jominy samples of a0.45% carbon steel (C45) it was shown that the evaluation of complex microstructure can be realised and a correlation to mechanical properties is possible.
