Abstract

The spectral shift of the solvated electron in MeOH/C2H6 mixture has been studied using pulse radiolysis. The spectral shift can be explained in terms of the size of methanol clusters formed in the solution. With increasing temperature at constant mole fraction of MeOH, the spectral maximum shifts towards lower energy. The width at led side increased with increasing temperature, however, there is no significant changes in the blue side of the spectra with temperature. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
