Abstract

Two novel hexadecametal-oxygen cluster compounds, {Ni[(NH2)(2)(C2H4)(2)NH](2)}(3)[(PMo5Mo3V8O44)-Mo-VI-V-V-O-IV].[(NH2)(2)(C2H4)(2)NH].H2O 1 and {Co[(NH2)(2)(C2H4)(2)NH](2)}(2)Na[(PMo6Mo2V8O44)-Mo-VI-V-V-O-IV]. 8H(2)O 2 are synthesized by a hydrothermal method, and characterized by X-ray crystallography, showing that the anion of 1 has a novel tetra-capping mode, and thatthe first hexadecametal-oxygen host shell is observed in 2.
