Abstract

Many kinds of adverse circumstances elicit acute phase response (APR) as aresult of the cytokin-driven regulatory process. During this process immunological, nervous and endocrine systems are activated. The result of this is the modulated concentration of several sera factors. Its measurement has a strong predictive value. The main APP include: in horses - SAA, CRP, Hp; in cattle - SAA and Hp; in pigs - CRP; in dogs - CRP, AGP; in cats - SAA, AGP and/or Hp. A discussion of cytokine behaviour at the beginning of APR has been included in this article.
