Abstract

The rheological behavior and dispersion stability of magnetic powder suspension were studied. With the aid of hyperdispersants having poly (epsilon-caprolactone) as solvatable chian, the viscosity of the suspension was lowered and the dispersion stability was improved obviously. The effect of the hyperdispersants was the result of both the type ofthe anchoring group and the molecular weight of the solvable chain. When the molecular weight of the solvatable chain is 700 and the anchoring group is the mixture of carboxyl and tertiary amine, the hyperdispersant, has the best effectiveness.
