Abstract

Dielectric, pyroelectric and piezaelectric properties of 0.7Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O-3-0.3PbTiO(3) ceramics modified with Ag2O have been investigated. The dielectric constant and loss were determined for ceramic samples. The pyroelectric coefficient and spontaneous polarization were measured by the static Byer-Roundy method as a function of temperature. The addition of Ag2O had negligible effect on the level of diffuseness of the phase transition. The dielectric and pyroelectric peak temperatures shifted slightly to lower temperature with the addition of Ag2O. Dielectric, pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties of the base composition were improved with the addition of small amounts of Ag2O.
