Abstract

The specific heats of a single crystal of a triangular antiferromagnet CsCuCl3 in magnetic fields both parallel to the hexagonal axis (H \\ c) and perpendicular to that (H \\ a) up to 15 T were measured. In H \\ c below similar to 5 T only one peak is observed. However, above that field two peaks are observed, as previously reported. In contrast, for H \\ a only one anomaly is observed up to 15 T. In H \\ a the transition temperature slightly increases with increasing magnetic field up to similar to 8 T and above that field it decreases. The magnetic phase diagram obtained from these measurements is presented. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All. rights reserved.
