Abstract

We propose four-fermion coupling plus one-pion exchange as an effective interaction for the Lambda N --> NN interaction. The foul-fermion coupling constants are determined by performing a chi(2)-fit to the experimental non-mesonic decay rates of light Lambda-hypernuclei. Our results based on the phenomenological model of Block and Dalitz indicate that the Delta I = 1/2 rule is not preferred for the non-mesonic decayof light Lambda-hypernuclei.
