Abstract

A constitutive model for cyclic behavior of reinforced soil is proposed that uses the homogenized transversely isotropic concept. The cyclically non-linear reinforced soil behaviors and the proper boundary conditions are considered in the model. The hyperbolic function and the Masing rule are combined to model cyclic behaviors of reinforced soil. Assessment of the predictive capabilities and limitations of the proposed model are compared with some experimental results.
