Abstract

0.66Pb(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O-3-0.34PbTiO(3) (PMT-PT) solid solutions modified with MnO2 (0.05 similar to 1.0 wt%) were fabricated, and the calcined and sintered specimens were anlayzed by XRD for second phase formation. The influenceof MnO2 addition on the microstructural, dielectric and pyroelectric properties of the solid solutions is investigated by changing additive amounts. The dielectric and pyroelectric constants decreased considerably with the addition of MnO2. The dielectric and pyroelectric peak temperatures are continuously shifted to lower temperature with addition of small amounts of MnO2. The frequency dispersion and diffuseness of the phase transition increase considerably with the addition of MnO2.
