Abstract

The effect of the following basic parameters on SO2 absorption in reactor with coaxial cylinders and impinging streams was investigated: composition of the flue gas, type of the spray nozzle as well as the type of the sorbents; The major results were: (a) Spray nozzles of external mixing of the phases are superior. (b) For the sorbents Ca(OH)(2) or Mg(OH)(2), the desulfurization efficiency may reach 94-96%. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
