Abstract

A four-pole mixed-resonator filter comprised of combine resonators and TE01-mode dielectric resonators (DRs) has been designed using the FDTD method so that only minimal tuning of the prototype is required. Resonant frequencies, interresonator coupling through rectangular slots, and unloaded Q-values are calculated for the DR and the combline resonator, and they compare extremely well with results available in the literature S-parameters are computed arm a large bandwidth to validate the improved spurious performance of the filter, and they give excellent agreement with measured results.
