Abstract

The Doppler ultrasound technique is a noninvasive method to evaluate alterations in neonatal cerebral hemodynamics. Interpretation of measurements derived from its application should be based on an understanding of the Doppler principles, instrumentation, the dynamic nature of the measurements, andthe underlying pathophysiologic and biochemical changes associated with the conditions to be studied. The technique shows potential in its application for testing neurophysiological function.
