Abstract

Sintering behavior and electrical properties of 0.66Pb(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O-3-.034PbTiO(3) ceramics were investigated as a function of the amount of V2O5 Theoptimum conditions for obtaining samples with high densities and improved electrical properties occur at sintering temperature of 1100 degrees C/4h using a nominal addition of 0.6wt%V2O5. The dielectric and pyroelectric peaktemperatures are slightly shifted to lower temperatures with the addition of amounts of V2O5 All compositions show a broad maximum for the dielectricconstant. The composition with the maximum dielectric and pyroelectric constant exhibits relatively superior piezoelectric properties.
