Abstract

An erbium-doped fiber laser is demonstrated using an erbium-doped fiber loop and a fiber grating. The novel cavity configuration enables both a shortcavity length and easy tunability to be achieved simultaneously. A maximumoutput power of > 400 mu W has been achieved, and single longitudinal modeoperation is obtained. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
