Abstract

Besides exploration and clinical examination diagnostic of thrombophilia is a main point to get an answer for the cause of thromboembolisms. We investigated in our own patients population the value of the venous occlusion test and the number of different disorders in fibrinolysis. Almost 50 percentof all patients showed a prolonged euglobulin clot lysis time. Nearly 50 percent of them were normalized by venostasis. That means there is no evidence for disturbances in endogenic fibrinolysis. Only a few patients took part in the follow-up but we think there is a high degree of reproducibility of the euglobulin clot lysis time. In a third of all examined patients therewere decreased protein-C-activities influenced by an increased turn-over and concomitant anticoagulation. Measurements in the follow-up-period did not reveal the same extension. Cholesterol, LDL- and HDL-lipoproteins and lipoprotein (a) did not correlate with tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) andits inhibitor (PAI). We found the same result for the homocystein-plasma-level.
