Abstract

We present a new method to enable the insertion of percutaneous suturing devices in severely scarred groins, using a peel-away sheath. Thissheath stabilizes the percutaneous tract for the suturing device. It may help to salvage closure procedures, which would otherwise have to be aborted due to insufficient stiffness of the device shaft. Cathet. Cardiovasc. Diagn. 45:315-317, 1998.
