Abstract

2-Chloroaniline, 3-chloroaniline, 4-chloroaniline, 2-aminophenol, 4-aminophenol, p-toluidine, and 4-aminobenzoic acid were oxidized into corresponding nitroarenes with chloroperoxidase from Serratia marcescens. The reaction was performed in a homogeneous or biphasic system and yielded 5-20 or similar to 90% of the reaction products, respectively.
