Abstract

The two endcaps of the PHENIX multiplicity/vertex detector are comprised of 24 wedge-shaped silicon pad detectors. The performance of a double-metal pad detector designed for these endcaps is described. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
