Abstract

The comparison by isoelectric focusing of 17 populations (from Spain,France, Wales, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden) of a species of Ctenostomatous Bryozoan formerly studied by << classical >> electrophoresis of total proteins and enzymatic forms on polyacrylamide gels : confirms the monospecificity of the populations confirms the independant evolution, some compared with others, of the populations and the presence of great regional pools of populations confirms the existence of a clinalvariation alongside the coasts of Wales and extended to Ireland givesa great precision in the results, compared to the previous methods used in this programme in return, shows that the technics is not as precise as an isoenzymatic study, when it is question to put in evidence aspeciation phenomenon by genetic incompatibility.
