Abstract

The hyperfine held of francium in iron has been measured for different isotopes using the method of low-temperature nuclear orientation andsamples prepared by ion implantation at T less than or equal to 1 K. For Fr-208 a nuclear magnetic resonance was observed. From the center frequency v(L)(B-ext = 0 T) = 490.7(4) MHz, we derive the corresponding magnetic hyperfine field as B-hf(FrFe) = 94.9(4) T.
