Abstract

We model the impact of laser pointing fluctuations on the operation of an interferometry experiment using Bose condensates. We demonstrate how this noise limits the sensitivity with which such an experiment can measure phase shifts, and discuss ways of reducing its effects. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
