Abstract

Many studies have demonstrated that humans have inherited a preference for sweet foods. A moderate consumption of su eet products can be tolerated in childhood without impairing the nutritional or sensory quality of the diet. In present diets the average proportion of sugar consumed after the second year of rife is much higher than recommended. Nutrition counselling can demonstrate practical tips for moderate use ofsweet products in children's diet.
