Abstract

We report for the first time the experimental results for special diffractive phase elements (DPE's) capable of implementing the desired functions inrotationally symmetric optical system. Experiments demonstrate that the fabricated DPE's can satisfactorily realize the combined functions, for instance, demultiplex different wavelength components and focus each component at a preset position simultaneously, produce tricolor annuli, and generate dual-chromatic point/ring pattern. The experimental results are in good agreement with those of the theoretical designs.
