Abstract

Hybrid fiber-radio networks can lead to a more effective exploitation of the available radio frequencies for microcellular coverage and to meet the increasing demand of cellular mobile radio communications. In this letter, the effect of clipping impulsive noise due to the nonlinear behavior of a semiconductor laser is evaluated on the performance of a CDMA-based optical fiber microcellular radio system.
