Abstract

Using RhH(CO) (PPh3)3 thioalkenes, in particular 2-vinylthiophene, PhSCH=CH2 and 2-MeSC6H4CH=CH2, are readily hydroformylated at 35-degrees-C with high regioselectivity (iso:n less-than-or-equal-to 19.5:1) andwith no competing hydrogenation.
