Abstract

Current deinking processes have a limited capability to produce high-quality fiber from the available recycle grades and require high-cost upgraded raw material. A process that converts OCC to high-quality bleached fiber as market pulp for use in printing, writing, and security paper production has been in operation in Italy for several years. Mills also use the process to produce straw and high-quality cotton linters pulp in nonsulfur, nonchlorine systems.
