Abstract

An 8-yr-old male captive-bred corn snake, Elaphe guttata, developed an intracoelomic mass, 8 cm cranial to the cloaca. An exploratory laparotomy revealed multiple masses in the left kidney, and a nephrectomy was performed. Three months following surgery, a second intracoelomic mass developed and the snake was euthanized. Necropsy indicated that the right kidney had multiple white masses, with similar appearing masses in the liver and lung. The histopathologic diagnosis was renal cell carcinoma, with metastases to the liver and lung.
