Abstract

We have studied the 1/f noise behavior of an YBa2Cu3O7/PrBa2Cu3O7 superlattice sample in the normal state, and, measured, for comparison, the 1/f noise power of an YBa2Cu3O7 film and PrBa2Cu3O7 film. The noisepower of superlattice sample is about 2 order of magnitude lower thanthat of YBa2Cu3O7 film, close to the reported noise level in YBa2Cu3O7 single crystal. The results are analysed by a simplified parallel noise sources model. The high level of 1/f noise in PrBa2Cu3O7 film prefers an origin of incipient localization for copper-oxide superconductors in the normal state.
