Abstract

The autocorrelational function of the duration of heart periods as anequal function to the known heart rate power spectrum enables statements about the middle (linear) connection between the heart beats including the heart rate variability. So we are able to investigate as wellthe connection of breathing and circulational function as the influence of the autonomal nervous system to the circulation by means of the autocorrelational function. There is the possibility to assess indirectly both the micro- and the macrocirculation in the peripheral circulation and the myocardial circulation by means of the noninvasively measurement of the volume pulsation at the extremities with the Near-Infrared-Remission-Photoplethysmography (NIRP). So we can measure not only the tachogramm of the duration of heart periods from the ECG but with sufficient approximation from peripheral volume pulsations to. To expand the statement it must done functional tests like deep breathing in time.
