Abstract

Residual toxicity to endosulfan, esfenvalerate and Bacillus thuringiensis was tested against adults of two parasitic wasps Trichogrammatoidea bactrae Nagaraja and Microplitis demolitor Wilkinson, at recommended field rates (500 ml/ha for Bacillus thuringiensis; 700 ml/ha esfenvalerate; and 2.1 L/ha endosulfan), during the period of July to October1 992. The insecticides were sprayed onto glass places which were allowed to air dry and then exposed to the parasitoids in a chamber. BothTrichogrammatoidea bactrae and Microplitis demolitor were found to behighly sensitive to endosulfan. Esfenvalerate had no adverse effects on M. demolitor bur showed toxicity to T. bactrae. B. thuringiensis did not show any effect on either parasitoids.
