Abstract

Clinically, CD30(+) lymphoma may present the following three manifestations: the rare primary cutaneous unilocular manifestation with a rather favourable prognosis, the primary cutaneous disseminated form witha poorer prognosis and the primary visceral type characterized by an aggressive course. According to the redefined lymphoma classification of 1994 recently introduced by the European organization of research and treatment of cancer (EORTC), the primary cutaneous CD30(+) lymphomabelongs to the group of low-grade lymphomas. In this paper, we present two cases of primary cutaneous, anaplastic large-cell CD30(+) lymphomas, one of the B cell type and the other of T cell origin. They are both characterized by an angiodestructive growth and a fulminating clinical course which puts into doubt the classification of this type as belonging to the low-grade or favourable-prognosis lymphomas.
