Abstract

The preferential direction of grain growth and magnetostriction of Dy0.6Tb0.3Pr0.1(Fe0.95Mn0.05)(x) alloys (1.80 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1.95) prepared by the Czochralski method have beeninvestigated. It was found that these alloys are essentially single phase with cubic Laves structure, and the preferential orientation in these samples is not perfect, The magnetostriction along the growth direction of these samples has been assessed.
