Abstract

The particular microstructure of PVC chains plays a great role on themorphological organization. A heat treatment above the glass-transition temperature induces modifications of this organization, In order tofollow the behavior of unstretched PVC fibres under heat treatment, we used the spin-probe technique. Data obtained show clearly that the chosen probe diffuses at room temperature into two morphological amorphous areas. Under heat treatment, we observe a modification of the morphological structure. TEM and AFM results are in good agreement with ESR data.
